Problem taking pictures of my work

I am having problems taking pictures of my oil paintings while they are wet. I am getting uneven glare, and spending way too much time trying to correct the problem. I don't want to post less than perfect photos so here is what I am going to do....I am going to let each piece dry for a week and then scan them. I will still paint daily, but today's painting will be posted in one week, tomorrow's painting will be posted in a week and a day and well, you get the idea. So I will see you all back here one week from today...on July 1st. In the meantime, please email me and subscribe to my blog. Details to right of this post. artbyjoy@aol.com

My Little Cupcake

I have always wanted to try my hand at painting a cupcake. I took the most perfect looking cupcake out of the box at my dad's father's day party and took it outside and took a couple dozen pictures...different angles, views, sides etc. The results is the painting. What do you think? I am pleased with the way it turned out. I do have to say that I think it looks much better in person than in this photo. It was still much to wet to try to scan it. This is an original 6x6 oil painting on canvas.
SOLD!

Want to watch me do an actual piece?

I have put several clips on You Tube showing the actual making of some of my art, including this marble piece that I did on May 10th. Click here to check it out.

Check out this guys work

I didn't get a piece done today, because I spent my time taking new reference photos for future artwork.

I wanted to share another artist's blog that I came across recently. His name is Neil Hollingsworth. Click here to check out his blog. His work is very inspirational for me.

Still working on it...

Won't you be glad when I am done with this? I haven't had a lot of time to work on this each day. It has been a challenge to keep the marbles even and round. Let me know what you think of the progress.

Progress on painting

Still not done. Today was a headached day and I found I wasn't happy with the way my painting was going today, so I didn't attempt to finish it. I did finish the blue marble that is farthest back and start on a couple more. Tomorrow is another day.

Oil Painting in Progress 2

I have started painting the marbles in. I didn't work on this for too long today. I played hookie part of the day and went and had lunch at my friend's Kate's house. It was a very nice break from my routine. My goal is to complete this tomorrow. Let's see how I do.

NO WEEKEND PAINTINGS FOR SUMMER

I have decided not to do paintings on the weekends this summer. I will be spending more time with the family, weeding the garden, clipping the dog...all the fun stuff in life. I will still be doing weekday paintings so keep watching.

Oil painting in progress

On occation I am going to do a larger more detailed piece that will take me longer than one day. I will do my best to post the progress of such pieces. This is a oil painting on stretch canvas. The subject matter is marbles coming out of a mason jar. I have done marbles in color pencil, but this is my first attempt at doing them in oil. Stay tuned to see how it comes out.

Ok, ok, I know. I haven't posted anything new in several days. Ever have one of those weeks where you just aren't right, physically, mentally, emotionally and any other way you can think of? I am now back on track and today's piece is an oil painting. I haven't done too much oil painting lately but plan on doing more of it. I replenished my supplies and have several projects outlined and ready to go. Let me know what you think.
