Marbles from the Mason Jar
I haven't posted a picture for a few days due to a wonderful little problem called a migraine headache. They can really knock me down for a day or two. Today's picture is part of a series I am planning on doing of marbles. I love marbles. They are so colorful and interesting. They also bring back great memories, because I also loved them when I was a kid.

Ballons
This one features these colorful balloon These took a good part of the day to complete. It was much more intensive than I thought it would be. Each balloon has areas were they appear solid and other areas with varying degree of transparency and translucency. I wanted to take the time to give each area the correct texture. It is a 5x7 color pencil painting. Why am I calling it a painting if it is a color pencil drawing? Because, it is done in layers with the color pencil and then using mineral spirits to spread out the color with a brush or swab giving it a washed effect, more like painting than your typical color pencil effect." Stones
2.5x3.5 Color pencil painting. I went out the other day in search of interesting rocks and stones. I think they make great artwork, because each one is itself a work of natures art. Each one is different than the next and the patterns and colors are never ending. Each one is perfect in it's own way. I think we take there beauty for granted. TRIO
I have decided to throw a pastel painting into the mix. I call this one TRIO. To be honest, I didn't do it all today. I did the basic painting several months ago for a tee shirt design for a wild animal park. Today I made some changes to it and added some detail. It measures 14x16.
